sleep texting disorder

If you have a smartphone, you may have felt the embarrassment of sending a private message to the wrong person or having autocorrect fail you at just the wrong time.

But some people experience a different kind of messaging mishap, one they may not even remember doing. And no, they're not drunk-dialing.

They're sleep-texting.

While hard data is lacking on this cultural trend, the anecdotal evidence has been mounting over the past few years. Twitter users regularly recount the loopy messages they've sent with the hashtag #sleeptexting. "There are texts sent from my phone at 5am that I do not recall sending," said one tweet. Another said, "I should stop sleeping next to my phone."

Others post Twitpics and Instagram photos showing their bizarre or garbled messages, some of which are more gibberish than actual words. One woman told CNN affiliate WQAD last year that she had a sleep-texting disorder.

Whereas some people might "get up and go get something out of the refrigerator" while in a state of sleep, said Dr. Jim Fulop, the corporate medical director for OhioHealth Sleep Services, others "grab their smartphone, which is right next to them, and they may text or do other things."

The idea of unlocking a smartphone, opening a texting app and then typing something while asleep may sound far-fetched, but the "sleep-texting" term is a little misleading. It's more like "half-asleep" texting, as doctors describe it as a state of rest where a person isn't fully awake.

"It's like your brain is on autopilot," explained Dr. Shelby Harris, director of behavioral sleep medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in New York. "Think about the rate at which people are texting nowadays, and most people sleep right next to (their phones), so if they wake up it's another automatic behavior. ... This is sort of a form of sleepwalking, that's kind of the way that I look at it."

Unlike sleepwalking, which can be dangerous, sleep-texting tends to be a habit that can be easily laughed off.

Here are some other recent examples of sleep texts, as posted on Twitter and Instagram:

Fulop and Harris say younger generations appear to be more susceptible to sleep-texting. For young professionals, sometimes their jobs require them to respond to texts and e-mails late into the night.

And teens, "they're texting constantly," Fulop said. "They feel they can spend the middle of the night communicating with their friends; it's part of their behavior. ... They don't intend to text, but they sleep-text because they wake up confused, they grab (their phone) and they're off mumbling in the text message."

Dr. Elizabeth Dowdell, a professor of pediatric nursing at Villanova University's College of Nursing, heard the same thing as she was researching Internet risk behaviors and the victimization of children and adolescents.

"I think for many adolescents and young adults, technology has provided us another avenue of sleep walking, (or) talking in our sleep. People have answered the phone, the good old-fashioned landline, in their sleep. 

That's not particularly new," Dowdell said. "What we're seeing now is younger people experiencing this."

Adults can typically shrug off sleep-texting with a laugh or an apology, but there could be greater consequences for adolescents. Texting is interrupting their sleep at an age when they need it most, and they could be more vulnerable to thier unintentional oversharing being posted for others to see.

If you're a sleep texter or afraid of becoming one, the easiest and best solutions are the most obvious: Turn off your phone, set your passcode lock or place it on the other side of the room so it's not within easy reach.

Movie Sharing - Meet the Robinsons

this week i'm gonna give you my recomendation to watch this film. If you think your family is different, wait till you meet The Robinsons family.^^

Plot

The film begins in 1995 showing a young woman leaving her baby boy on the steps of an orphanage, where he lives there after. Twelve years later, this boy, called Lewis  is a brilliant inventor of fantastic devices, but has yet to be adopted and fears that he will never do so. Convinced that his birth mother abandoned him against her will, he attempts to invent a memory-scanning machine that will allow him to remember his mother in the hopes that he can find her. His roommate, Michael "Goob" Yagoobian  becomes his assistant during long hours of building, which causes Goob's Little League baseball team's performance to suffer. Goob attempts to be supportive, but eventually tires of it.

At Lewis’s school science fair, judged by one Dr. Krunkelhorn, Lewis is approached by a thirteen-year-old boy named Wilbur Robinson  who claims (falsely) that he is a "time cop" from the future and that a man wearing a bowler hat has stolen a time machine that Wilbur wishes to recapture. The sinister 'Bowler Hat Guy'  for whom Wilbur is searching, sends Doris, a robotic hat with mechanical arms, to sabotage Lewis’ memory-scanner. As Lewis begins demonstrating the use of his machine, it explodes, throwing the science fair into chaos. Lewis runs out, leaving his machine, whereupon the Bowler Hat Guy steals the memory scanner, now repaired by Doris.

At the orphanage, Lewis goes to the roof, crushed by his apparent failure. Wilbur appears and tells Lewis to go back to the science fair and fix the machine. Lewis agrees, under the condition that Wilbur proves he is from the future. Wilbur then takes Lewis to a flying time machine, and uses it to take them to the year 2037, thirty years forward. Meanwhile, Goob is visited by the Bowler Hat Guy, who advises him to nurture whatever resentment he has against Lewis. This scene acts as a foreshadow to later events.

menadari bahwa ibu kandungnya telah meninggalkannya, Lewis berinisiatif untuk menciptakan sebuah alat Mesin Pembaca Memori, berharap dia dapat mengingat wajah ibunya dan menemukannya kembali.
Teman sekamarnya, Goob merasa terganggu beberapa hari gara-gara kebisingan yang ditimbulkan oleh Lewis selama mengerjakan proyeknya tersebut.Goob terpaksa harus kalah dalam pertandingan base ball gara-gara kurang tidur.^^
Pada saat pameran sains di sekolahnya, Lewis didatangi oleh seorang anak bernama Wilbur Robinson yang mengklaim dirinya sebagai polisi masa depan yang sedang mengejar 'Laki-laki dengan topi bowler' yang telah mencuri mesin waktu darinya.
Penjahat dengan mesin waktu yang sedang dicari Wilbur menyabotase mesin pembaca memori buatan Lewis hingga hancur dan menyebabkan kekacauan. Lewis kecewa dan meninggalkan mesinnya, yang kemuadian diambil oleh sang penjahat.
Kembali ke panti asuhannya, Lewis menyepi di atap. menyesali kegagalannya. Saat itu, Wilbur muncul kembali dan menyarankan Lewis untuk memperbaiki mesinnya. Lewis setuju dengan  syarat Wilbur dapat membuktikan bahwa dirinya benar-benar dari masa depan. Wilbur kemudian mengajak Lewis naik mesin waktu dan terbang ke tahun 2037 tahun dimana dia dan kelarganya tinggal.
Sementara di tempat lain, Goob didatangi oleh lelaki bertopi bowler, yang nantinya akan membawa kekacauan di masa depan.

baru pada tanggal 25 Nopember ini Elfata menyelenggarakan Farewell Party yang berjalan sangat meriah. para wisudawan dan wisudawati terlihat sangat bahagia ditemani para walinya. Suasana syahdu dan haru saat semua hadirin bersama-sama melantunkan lagu Indonesia Raya dan Hymne Elfata. para wali terlihat bangga saat melihat slide foto-foto kegiatan putera-puteri mereka di layar.
Farewell party kali mengambil tema "Never say Good Bye!". yang diartikan dengan luas. never say good bye to EEC, Never say good bye to all friends and of course Never Say Good Bye to Learn English. hehe

this is a few tips for you to learn English at home
• Listen to English. When listening to English television programs, turn on the subtitles or closed captioning to your native language. Learn conversational English by reading along with subtitles or ...closed captioning as you listen to the speakers. Even entertainment programming is helpful; you will better understand the language when paired with visual cues, such as the body language of the speaker and the social context of the spoken words.
• Read English language books, newspapers and magazines. Begin with simple books and interesting magazines. Many newspapers are written so someone with the reading skills of a 9th- or 10th-grade student can understand the stories. Use an English dictionary to help you learn new words as you read. Reading English language will improve your vocabulary, grammar and basic sentence structure.
• Speak English to others at home. When you learn a new word or phrase, use that word or phrase in place of your native language. Add a few new words daily to gradually increase the words and phrases you speak. Speak with native English speakers to increase your understanding and improve your pronunciation.

• Dengarkan Bahasa Inggris.
  Ketika anda menoton program berbahasa Inggris, pastikan subtitle atau teks Inggrisnya aktif. Anda akan mengerti lebih baik dengan membandingkan apa yang diomongkan, ekspresi, dan bahasa tubuh dari tokoh ketika mengucapkan kata-kata tersebut. inilah salah satu cara yang menyenangkan dalam mempelajari bahasa Iggris.
• Bacalah buku-buku berbahasa Iggris.
  dimulai dengan buku-buku sederhana seperti cerita bergambar, atau majalah-majalah yang menarik. gunakan kamus berbahasa Inggris untuk mempelajari kata-kata baru yang Anda baca.
  dengan membaca buku berbahasa Iggris, Anda dapat menambah koleksi kata-kata Bahasa Inggris anda sekaligus mempelajari tata bahasa dan  sruktur dasar kalimat.
